Very disappointed. Not at the restaurant dont get me wrong. Restaurant is great and good place to hangout. My first attempt there was over an hour wait so decided to come the next day. I called and made an reservations. We drove 62 miles and just to realize the sundays they do only breakfast brunch. Were were disappointed as we saw the menu and were exited to try few dishes. Anyway so we had to choose something from the menu only thing cought our eyes was crabcakes poached egg, but they run-out of that. Any way so had something else. For me they should specify on websites informing menu change. I just clicked menu and was impressed with that. Please specify only dinner. Well if i get a chance i would definitely try and main menu food now that i know. The wine tasting days are also impressive so yeh will have to try twice. After that for sure i know i will have to increase the stars.
Really cool atmosphere, very friendly service and the food is delicious interesting and unique, we ordered all appetizers each of which seemed crafted with a creative flair unique to this boutique eatery.
In the beginning our waiter seemed kind of irritated. We had a couple of plates that did not look clean but were quickly replaced. The Brussel Sprouts were to DIE FOR! AMAZING!! I couldn't eat my main meal (chicken sandwich) because I was too full from the appetizer. The truffle fries were also great. I would totally go back here!
Easily one of my top 5 in Jax. Welcoming, cozy, and sophisticated. The menu has solid selections all around, and the staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. My best takeaway from Town Hall is that we didn’t feel rushed. That’s my gripe about 99% of American restaurants - how all that matters to the staff is how quickly they can flip your table. Sure, we spent over 2 hours here and continually ordered off the menus, but not once did we feel rushed to get in and get out. Couldn’t ask for a better, consistent approach to dining.
Staff was excellent, ambiance was nice, drinks were great, dessert was tasty, food was good for the most part (charcuterie board was awesome!) but the main dishes we ordered were on the smaller side and lacked any real flavor. For instance the Salmon dish I ordered, while it came with 2 decent fillets of salmon that were cooked perfectly, they lacked any flavor at all and I ended up wiping every single last drop of mustard garnish on the plate just to be able to taste "something". The arugula salad that they were placed on top of was nice, but when I ordered the dish it said it came with potatoes. Turns out the potatoes were basically "essence of potatoes" that were little tiny tiny bits of potato that were mixed into the salad. Kind of a bummer. My wife's dish, the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus, looked a little more substantial because they actually included mashed potatoes as stated in the menu. Her dish was "ok" as she described it, and that's saying a lot. I love her to death but she is as plain-Jane as they come, and even SHE said the chicken was very bland. Honestly when I tried it, it tasted only slightly better than boiled flavorless chicken. We were pretty disappointed by the lack of flavors by our main dishes (and to an extent the portion sizes for $30 a plate) so much so that we ended up making something else to eat once we got home later in the night. I'm not totally knocking the chefs or the restaurant but there is a little room for improvement on the value here. Overall we had a good time and a great date night. We probably would only come back for the cocktails and small plates though as there are a few other spots in Jacksonville to better spend $125 for two people.
I had a great time with a medium size group. They were able to seat 8 of us with a decent amount of space. The menu has various options including fish, steak, veggies, etc. The brussel sprouts were excellent. We split the deserts, which includes sorbet, gelato, and a chocolate flourless cake.
Absolutely delicious!! Biscuit with sausage gravy. I added a fried chicken breast and an egg. Service was great! This is a frequent brunch spot for me and my friends! Highly recommended.
My wife and I frequent Town Hall for date night, but popped in yesterday for the wine tasting and an early dinner. We never leave the disappointed. Wine tastings are Wednesday and Thursday and only $20 per person. The menu rotates based on what’s in season but have never been disappointed. The duck fat cornbread is a must have.
We are excited to return to try out brunch! Fantastic food and great service. Stopped here for early dinner otw to a concert. Told the waiter we needed to get in and out to make the concert. We were done with drinks, dinner, and check within 30-45 minutes tops. My mom had the pasta and I had the 4 oz (perfectly cooked) filet. We both finished our plates everything on our plates because it tasted so good. My steak was tender and as a truffle lover.. the butter sauce for the top was just right. The steak had a perfect crust on it too. Go.. experience... enjoy!
Excellent quality food, very nice staff/waiter, food came relatively quick. Prices are fair albeit a little on the pricey side. Could use more seating inside but just make a reservation if needed. Great atmosphere. Steak, potatoes, scallops, fries, it was all great.
