Very easy to get to and staff was very helpful.
There are many people who really care about your success in this center. I took off 2 stars because of a welcome center employee named Sophia. She will usually tell you any answer to your question to dismiss you or make her self feel like she knows what she’s talking about. I almost didn’t go to Wayne state because she told me I was no longer considered a transfer student because I applied at Wayne state. I had my MTA and she almost made me make the biggest mistake of my life which would be to not go to Wayne State. She also talks down on students and answers questions in a condescending manner.
Wayne State University Welcome Center is a fantastic resource for prospective students and visitors. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with any questions or concerns. The center provides informative campus tours that give a comprehensive overview of campus life and facilities. The interactive displays and exhibits make the visit engaging and educational. Parking is located at the backside or at roadside.
We went to Wayne State for a tour to help my daughter decide on a college. The tour starts at the Welcome Center. Our first impression was quite dismal. The seats were all badly stained and the interior was not welcoming. Thankfully the staff was friendly and helpful. Wayne State, you really need to invest money on making a good first impression. Update: We went back when it was not busy to talk to a Financial Aid advisor. It was not dismal and the seats we found were clean so I added a star to my original review. Friendly staff. Disappointed to hear they don't "stack" scholarships (ask them about it). Keep improving and I'll keep adding stars.
So unorganized it took me three months or longer to get everything together in order to take classes..its not simple as community College...where you can take care of everything in a day...when i went to the welcome center..the student aids..send you off to a computer to figure out everything on your own, then the Financial aid people get paid to sit at a desk..all day..and do nothing when you go to them for help, they tell you to go back to the computers and they will send a student aid to help you..so what the hell are you getting paid to do all day...so the financial aid people never help you the student aid do..furthermore..i had to wait two month to get in to..see an Academic advisor...THEY NEED TO PLEASE MAKE THE PROCESS IN Transitioning over from a community college to a University a little simpler and better.
There is a parking garage right behind the Welcome Center. The staff is extremely helpful. They had everything from academic advising, financial and, parking passes, etc in this building. The next building over is the bookstore, Starbucks, and WSI Warrior merch! Lots of outdoor seating.

I am a student that commutes from East Lansing everyday. I of course am considering getting a furnished dorm in fall. I would like to see one but am told I must pay the $125 fee to get in the system. If I was selling my car would you give me a $50 non refundable fee just to allow you to look at it.??
Excellent customer service. I always have my needs met with friendly representatives. PARENTS AND STUDENTS can handle all their financial and needs as well as accounts payable,and general college information.
Lots of restaurants and things to do. Good store and wifi. Has multiple bank ATMs and a full service credit union. There is a Starbucks inside. Lots of places to work and collaborate or just study. Plenty of TVs and really clean.
