I came to Guillermo with my wedding dress a little under two months before my wedding. I knew going in that I would be paying a premium for expedited alterations, and I was happy to do so because I had read so many incredible reviews about his craftsmanship and knew I wanted the dress in excellent hands. From my first fitting, it was immediately clear why Guillermo has the reputation he does. He walked me through the structure and construction of my dress, explained his recommendations and why he was making them, and helped me understand what was realistically possible within a pretty tight timeline. There were a couple of alterations I initially asked about that he was very transparent would take me outside of my budget. I really appreciated that there was never any pressure to spend more. Instead, we talked through what mattered most to me and found the best middle ground—maintaining the integrity of what I wanted, working within the timeline, and respecting the budget I had given him. I never once felt uncomfortable or like I was being upsold. Given the timeline, I was picking up my finished wedding dress only about a week before actually wearing it, which could have been incredibly stressful. Somehow, I wasn’t nervous at all. Guillermo had made me feel from the beginning that I was in very good hands. When I picked it up, it was perfect. Because of the fabric, construction, and the way the dress had originally been sewn, the alterations ultimately required more work than we had anticipated when we agreed on the price. Guillermo took care of all of it without increasing what he charged me. That level of integrity and service really stood out to me. He even took the time to recommend the right kind of steamer and explain how to care for the dress before the wedding. And when the day finally came, the dress was absolutely perfect. It fit beautifully, felt like my dress, and I didn’t have to think about it once. Guillermo is an incredibly talented craftsman, but just as importantly, he is honest, thoughtful, transparent, and clearly takes enormous pride in his work. If you’re trusting someone with something as important (and as nerve-wracking!) as your wedding dress, I cannot recommend him enough.
