Excellent service with a sincere human touch. Was able to schedule a zoom where I received a free consultation with their lead engineer to discuss my home project. After sharing my concerns, we went over all the details together and I decided to reach for low hanging fruit and scale down the project. Never felt like I was being sold anything and it was nice to have someone that was so knowledgeable who sincerely cared about the stress people go through while doing home improvement. Will definitely keep them in mind for a future home renovation projects. A+

I am the maintenance manager for a property management company and was accordingly tasked with having all our properties subject to Senate Bill 721 ("Balcony Inspections") inspected for compliance with that legislation. I contacted quite a few contractors, and quickly became disappointed in the lack of responsiveness, professionalism, consistency, and trustworthiness. I hired SF Bay Engineering for a structural inspection when stucco cracks started appearing around my house. These cracks gave me a lot of anxiety. After my initial call, they were able to schedule an engineer visit relatively quickly. Then came their engineer, Kenny Wu, who was very knowledgeable. He listened patiently and professionally even to my basic questions. His observations and analysis gave me a lot of confidence. On top of that,  he is extremely approachable. In my view, that sets him apart from the rest. If I had to consult a structural engineer in the future, SF Bay Engineering and  Kenny would be my first choice.

We had SF Bay Engineering come give a consultation on potential changes we want to make to our home. Our goal was to have an idea of relative complexity for different potential alterations, such as moving walls, removing a bathroom, and adding a second story addition above the garage, all before working with an architect. This was time incredibly well spent! The engineer we worked with gave us a ton of great information that allowed us to quickly decide what was worth pursuing vs what would likely be cost prohibitive to eventually build. The consultation was very reasonably priced and potentially saved us 10-100x in avoided costs. Shree was our point of contact with SF Bay Engineering, and he was an excellent partner. We especially appreciated his clear communication, and he referred us to other professionals for the next phases. We would gladly work with them again in the future.

I contacted SF Bay Engineering when I ran into a problem with my builders who changed my house design without telling me and tried to convince me that it was not possible to complete the original plan. Marcus was instrumental in explaining what was actually possible to keep the original design, the cost differences in the different building approaches, and most importantly how to discuss with my builder to get them to comply with the original contract. I was extremely encouraged by the answers provided and it did in fact make a huge difference in getting my builders to do the right thing. I would highly recommend SF Bay Engineering!
