This is one of my favorite shops! Here you will find beautiful African clothing for men, women, and children with alterations available. There are also unique purses, fanny bags, and backpacks...all handmade and beautiful. There is also fabric by the yard. This is where I purchased the fabric for my bathroom windows. But the main reason I shop here is not only to visit with the precious owner, Grace, but because of the great selection of earrings. I almost never walk out without a new pair of earrings.

My experience at Mbabazi was awesome. Grace is amazing, the garments all have a life of their own and are hand made. One lady was sewing when we arrived. I was able to try on my pieces, and she measured my husband for future pieces that will be made for him when certain material comes in. He is over joyed with the pieces we purchased as well. I'm looking forward to new pieces on our next visitšŸ’Æā¤ļø

Every piece is hand crafted! The customer service is hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. My skirt was slightly snug and the owner fixed it while I was in the store! Monthly visits are a necessity!

I wish I could rate higher! I am a guest at a traditional Nigerian wedding (where the clothes are being prepared) and needed to send measurements. We went to the store for help with measuring to make sure the clothes would be perfect and we would not mess up the measurements doing them ourselves. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and willing to help. I can't say thank you enough to this amazing group of ladies!

Unparalleled quality and most unique products. Equally beautiful is the owner Grace! I had the opportunity to travel to Uganda with her and see their shop and meet the seamstresses and tailors and her family and more. It was amazing! Swing by and meet her. She’s a gift in and of herself.

I love Mbabazi! Grace and the rest of the staff are so friendly and helpful. I got custom curtains made for my office and they're so beautiful! Most recently they hosted a guest artist from Boston - the collaboration is a wonderful thing to see, and we had a great time getting to know each other and dancing to some good Afrobeats!

I came to Memphis to visit my friend and I was originally going to purchase online because I didn't have time to shop before my flight. We decided to stop in on my way to the airport and I was so glad to go and actually visit the store. Everyone was so helpful and helped my friend and I find dresses that flattered our shapes and figures. We had a hard time leaving the store because we kept looking at more and more things! I almost missed my flight! My friend and I had the best girls weekend and to end it with such a special shopping experience made this trip very memorable. I joined their mailing list and I'm excited to hear when new prints are available and have items shipped out to me!

I must admit that looking back on my time at Mbabazi on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 I was a little embarrassed that I didn't have enough money to purchase both that beautiful kimono Grace had displayed at the front of the shop and one of the cowrie shell belts that must've took someone hours to make at the time. Had I thought earlier before entering, I would've done a better job saving. Hopefully though, when the time is right, I'll be able to purchase a kimono (and possibly a fan) of my own. It's not everyday that I see chic African-inspired clothing that I could easily wear out in public. Not to mention that I appreciate Grace's patience and taste for vintage clothing when I entered at around 4 pm on that day. Definitely worth a visit!

Mbabazi House is an authentic African store offering a wide variety of handmade items, including trinkets, dolls, artwork, and clothing—all crafted by African artisans. The customer service is truly second to none, with staff sharing great knowledge about the store and the items. Prices are reasonable, and I will definitely return whenever I’m in town!
