We had 5 different companies come out and quote us on a panel upgrade and to add an additional outlet to our backyard… The quotes we received were all over the place, which honestly was to be expected. What I didn’t expect was how different each person came to these numbers. One big name company literally sent out a young kid who simply opened our panel, took a picture, then walked to our backyard and plugged in a meter to get voltage readings, then had his manager call me with some astronomical rate. Others did a few more due diligence, But what really set James and his team At MarkGen apart, was how much time they spent investigating and verifying our current situation so they could give us only what we needed. Their final quote was not based on assumptions. It was based on facts. They saved us over $3000 and were professional from start to finish. Side note: I highly recommend sticking with smaller shops like this as they have fewer mouths to feed than these big corporate behemoths where they need to upsell to ensure their CEO gets their 400 K a year… just sayin.
We had an exceptional experience working with James the owner, Gary and MarkGen Electric! We are experienced real estate professionals, and signed up with MarkGen when a prior, trusted electrical company came in wayyy too high on a bid for EV charger install, and a 4-bathroom complex renovation. James is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and fair. Communication is outstanding, and any challenges addressed quickly and respectfully. We look forward to working with them on much larger projects in the future!
