I absolutely love O’Dowd’s on the Plaza! The atmosphere is always lively, and there’s something for everyone, whether it’s the fantastic DJs or the amazing bands. The energy is always fun and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for 21 and up to hang out and enjoy a great night out!

This company's customer service is appalling. I already posted a review about the specific situation that occurred on Thanksgiving at the Stroud's on 135th in Overland Park, but this review is specifically for the team at KC Hopps. They have handled Thursday's fiasco poorly. Looking through their responses to negative reviews, they should completely be ashamed of themselves. A company who threatens to have negative reviews removed simply because they don't like them is not a company I trust.

Stroud’s is not nearly as good as it once was. Server lacked attention to detail. The bad experience started with just ordering water with lemon. Never received the lemon. Server did not pay attention regarding salad order. The salad was wrong. Then I asked for a couple of crackers to go with salad. Had to ask twice. Server didn’t care enough to offer crackers. Server never asked “can I get you anything else?” Order potatoes crispy. We received a greasy glob of potatoes. You offer meals family style so why do we have to ask for more beans? Why are they not offered? Rolls were stale and dry. Server dropped checked and never looked back. Overall bad experience. Previous owners of Stroud’s would be so embarrassed. You need to do better!

We used KC Hopps for a catering event for our company for 50 people. Working with Heidi was a pleasure as she was accommodating, flexible and patient with us up to the event. They did a great job setting up early, covering basics with us and cleaning up afterwards. Great customer service during the event as well. We had a nice variety of food that was good quality and presentation from start to finish. We had a lot of compliments from our coworkers. Will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

The Gatsby on Oak I thought long and hard about posting this, but decided future brides should know my experience. I 100% recommend the venue as a beautiful space. You get alot of amenities that are helpful; chairs, tables, linens, security, parking, bridal suite. The space is ceremony and reception in one venue. Why I'm not recommending the space is due to the service, or lack there of we received the final month of our planning and the day of the wedding. Andrea and Todd Hulse purchased the venue and never notified their brides. It was very confusing trying to schedule my final planning meeting. Andrea did email me back, but never explained who she was, until I asked. During our final meeting, she was unaware of what I had previously planned with the other venue directors. The day of the wedding Andrea was not onsite, even though she stated she would be, she never text me or called to let me know she wasn't coming. Tyler was our contact and unfortunately, he was not service oriented. Black chairs had dust, dirt and chocolate on them and my coordinator had to clean them. We found plastic cups in the window sills and trash left in the bridal suite bathroom. After having vendors track in dust and debris, Tyler did not clean the entryway. We had to ask him to clean the floor by the bar, which was caked with salt and white film. Andrea stated the bar would make a sign with all the choices offered, which did not happen. We had out of town guests, and we asked for all the bar options listed, so they could pick their drink. The bartenders printed out a piece of paper that said; beer and wine. It wasn't even framed or displayed, it was just laid on the bar. We were really disappointed in the service we received, and wish the venue had not been sold directly before our wedding. If you decide to book here, I would recommend you have a very assertive day of coordinator.

KC Hopps/Barley's Overland Park used to be a customer focused restaurant. That's changed. The KC Hopps app no longer works, so you're forced to place your order online, with the bonus that the gift cards you've purchased won't work (even after verifying they are valid) When you call the store they're happy to tell you your only option is to order online...even after you've explained the failure of their online system to allow the use of their gift cards. KC Hopps is happy to take your money for gift cards, they just work really hard to make sure you can't use them. It's a shame how KC Hopps has made customer service so unimportant to them.

So I found out that KC Hopps owns Tanners at Redbridge Shopping center. We loved coming in here until the prices of alcohol far exceeded our love of the place! Unfortunately you're gonna lose my business and many thers to come. Absolutely a ridiculous price increase! You've now joined to evil of grocery hikes and gas hikes! Good for you. It's probably gonna cost you your business. Mark my words! You can't have a business with mediocre food and bad service with drink prices this high. This area won't stand for it. It will just be the next Blue Moose. Not only that, I love how afraid you are of "The Limit" opening. Because you know what customers you have left will be gone because your restaurants suck! So I guess I was right! Tanners at Redbridge is closing. So your response was a complete lie. Try listening to your customers next time! 🤣🤣🤣

Never use them for “express” catering, where they drop it off at your house. You will find better quality and presentation at the grocery store. Their charcuterie board is quite possibly the worst charcuterie board I have ever seen. Despite the description and reassuring words, it’s your basic cheeses, a jar of pickled banana peppers and thinly sliced, simply stacked, salami. I contracted with them for two parties. First being my birthday and the second, a dear friend’s 50th birthday party. They did refund me for the first party and I canceled the catering for the second, but they did so very reluctantly and were very rude, hence why I’m still leaving a poor review.

Great people but the restaurants they operate lack a depth of flavors in their food and beverages. We’ve tried many of them over the years and they aren’t bad but they just aren’t great. I’m not an amazing cook but I can execute many of their dishes at home with much better flavor. It seems like too many corners are cut in the kitchen with the quality and quantity of ingredients.

After a long hard day at work, it’s nice to be able to come at barleys at 10 pm! Get great service from the bartender. Kailey knows my usual which is nice. Great service with a stellar staff.
