I have been purchasing container loads of engines from these guys for more than 20 years. Diesel Sales are led by profoundly serious & customer friendly people. They only sell quality engines, and the best thing is that they stand behind their product. I highly recommend Diesel Sales. I buy engines from all over the USA & Diesel Sales is one of the best engine suppliers.

I have had a great experience working with Diesel Sales over the last year or so; they are always very knowledgeable and responsive to my needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking for diesel engines, transmissions and heavy duty parts.

I bought a new engine from them , a 4TNV98 and it was smoking a lot within 6 months and I tried to file a claim of warranty and was denied. I had a 1 year warranty and they would not stand behind it. Do not buy from Dave over there, they do not tell the truth. 14 months later the engine locked up and I lost a $7500 engine. We serviced it properly, I have a shop, it was just a bad engine and a bad company to buy from.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!! Do not buy anything from Diesel Sales or Heavy Quip out of Chicago IL. I purchased a used cat 6nz engine from them on Oct. 11. (I know this is cat related on Detroit page, but they sell detroit engine as well) Wired the full amount on Oct. 12. Engine was advertised as good running, used engine with new seals and bearings. Talked with Lauren on the phone multiple times on Oct. 11. I asked if I could just come down, pay for it, and pick it up. She said no, would take a week to dyno and prep for shipping. Said it was ready to go other than dyno and to ship. Purchase price included shipping. Told her my truck was down, and I needed it asap. Texted her on Oct. 18 to see if it shipped. She said she doubted it. Texted again on Friday Oct 21 to see if it shipped. Lauren said they had to order bearings and would install the following Wednesday. (2 weeks after engine was already paid in full). Talked to her on Monday, Oct. 24 and said that if I knew it would of taken this long, I would have gotten a different engine. My truck is down. This is not a spare engine for a winter project. Said I just wanted my money back. She said there would be a 20% restock fee. I said I wanted to talk to someone higher up. So I talked with Steve Farkus. Told him the story and he said would be a 20% restock fee. I asked for what. Steve told me because they already tore down the engine to put bearings and seals in it. I said it was supposed to be done before I ever paid for it. Steve said that was not the case and had to order bearings and seals and that if they resold it to someone else, they would have to tear the engine down again to put bearings and seals in it again. I said what??? Read that last sentence again. He said he was sorry for the misunderstanding. I said if u were truly sorry, I would get a 100% refund back. He said that's not company policy. I texted Lauren on that same day that I wanted a total refund and we can just go our separate ways. Then I get an email from Howard Gossage saying that they could refund me less 20%. I texted Lauren on Wednesday Oct 26 and said I wanted my money back. She texted back that checks would be cut that day and sent out. It's now November 4, no money or engine. I live 5 hours away from them in WI. Doesnt take a week and a half to get something in the mail. They lie, misrepresent, and have zero customer service. THEY ARE CROOKS!!! They are out for themselves and nothing else. They sell engines, and parts. Please share my story. Please reach out to me if u have questions or want to know more. I have nothing to hide. Buyer beware do not purchase a komatsu engine from this company. I don't know about other brands. My engine arrived clean with a beautiful paint job and looked great. All that turned out to be a farce when the key was turned. Within ten minutes of break in the coolant totally entered the engine oil and flowed out of the top of the oil filler neck. So now I got to spend another $1200 to have a local engine shop take the head off to discover that the piston sleeves were not setto correct depth. This caused the head gasket to leak immediately. So if I paid 13,000 for this engine and it was supposedly shop ran how did this happen? The answer came when I had to replace the water pump. Much to my surprise the engine was hardly rebuilt with new parts the thermostat was broken the water pump was old and not working. The fuel hoses were all very loose and many bolts are stripped. This is a botch job at best and there is some severe dishonesty going on here. This company will not stand behind their product at all. This company has taken 13,000 from me and I have nothing to show for it

I have done a few purchases with diesel sales. And I have had a few of my customers as well and we performed the install. I deal with Lauren every time and she is quick to get me what we need. And she is accurate on her pricing and delivery times. I will continue doing business here.

I bought a new Yanmar engine, it started smoking within 4 months, I emailed a video, called them, warned them of a problem, they didn't respond to my warranty requests, engine blew up 10 months later and they say there's no warranty. STAY AWAY from these guys! They have the worst customer service ever, they do not call you back, unless you are buying something else.

Do not purchase anything from this shady company. They will cause you more downtime that you are already set to have. There prices are the way they are for a reason. And their biggest downfall is they don't take accountability for their mistakes as you can see in most of the responses to the negative post. Just pay the extra money to get parts from a more reputable place of business...you'll end up coming out of pocket for it anyway! Get ready to be ran around

I purchased a Reman Cat engine from Dave Gwizdalski in sales. We had a couple minor issues with this engine and I am more than impressed with the professional courtesy in which these issues were taken care of. I got full and immediate resolve without any run around. Also special kudos to Kenny Soraghan in warranty and I even got great service from Randy your shop foreman. My customer was impressed also with the quick no hassle answers to these problems. Also, I received the core refund in a very timely manner. I've been doing this job for almost 40 years and just have to take the time to let you all know that you have a very professional team and I'm going to bring as much business as I can to your company in the future.
