Have been shopping here for a while. There is always a reasonable priced item found here.

Lovely store, beautiful clothes and great prices…HOWEVER… the manager super rude and I’ve been there plenty of times to shop! I don’t understand how they have someone like her working in retail. This is not the first time she’s rude. She has a miserable face like she doesn’t want to be there… maybe she needs to retire! The other staff are very friendly! Time to recycle!

This store has been my go to spot for 15 years. The manager goes above and beyond. She is so helpful, gracious and fun. The prices are great and the selection and sizes never disappoint

I drop into this store from time to time and have never had an issue. If you dig, you can find quality designer clothes at reasonable prices. However, on March 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM ET, I had an extremely troubling experience with a woman who I reasonably believe is the store manager. I was attempting to make an exchange without my original receipt. I referenced a prior receipt from an earlier visit, which stated that a “refund exchange” would be available. Based on that, I proceeded to exchange the item and selected another item that was actually more expensive. At the register, the cashier called this woman over. She then began to read the receipt to me slowly, moving her finger along each word as if I could not understand basic text. The tone was patronizing and inappropriate. I responded, “I am an attorney.” That statement appeared to trigger her. She replied, “I am educated, too.” I said, “Okay, then act as such.” From there, the interaction escalated unnecessarily. Based on prior observations of her behavior in the store, I stated that this seemed to be a pattern in how she engages with Black customers. She responded, “why do you guys always have to say it is because you are Black?!” I noted that her use of “you guys” only reinforced my concern about how she categorizes and speaks to Black patrons. She then stated, “I’m Black,” which appeared inconsistent with her presentation, as she presented as South Asian/Indian with a thick accent indicative of that background, and followed with, “Guess what I am?” I declined to engage, stating that there was no point to this line of questioning. She then rubbed the front of her hand and asked if I was judging her based on her lighter skin color, implying that her light skin was something of importance. At that point, I reiterated that her conduct toward customers of a specific race, not her claimed identity, was the issue, and that escalating the situation in this way was inappropriate. The exchange became increasingly unprofessional. She raised her voice and continued attempting to draw me into a discussion about how "you guys always do this" rather than resolving the transaction. I pointed to the cameras to indicate that the interaction was being recorded. She responded, “I don’t care.” Only after this prolonged and unnecessary confrontation did she complete the exchange. As the interaction ended, she stated, “I won’t be bullied" as if to make herself the victim when she is at least 20 years my senior. I responded, “nor will I.” This was not simply a disagreement over store policy. It was a deeply uncomfortable and unprofessional interaction that should not occur in a retail environment. I hope ownership takes this seriously and addresses both customer service conduct and how bias shows up in interactions with Black customers.

DeJaniero has nice clothing and I like shopping there but, i think they should have plus size clothes along with regular sizes. There are more small, medium and large, but not any extra large dresses and pants. Their clothes tend to run small.

Great prices and a large inventory of seasonal clothing, shoes and some accessories. Great location.

This location is always well organized, stocked and clean. The workers here have always been friendly to me! I love de janeiro and it’s been one of my favorite stores in NYC. Prices are affordable! They even have flats with cushions on the inside like the old Payless ones if you know you know, but I truly love this store pls check them out!!

I’m traveling from Nj to WTC and saw your store 2 weeks ago! I love the wonderful selections and affordable prices! I brought my friend over and planning another trip with my daughter and my cousin! Love your black reusable bag! I felt like a fashionista carrying it! One suggestion….how about hanging those bags on the back wall? That area needs a little sprucing up✅

I found some cute tops for work here. And I also got a few maxi sundresses for my beach vacation last month. They have a big selection of bras and panties as well. The stock changes frequently so I stop by every couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have for Fall.
