Brother's was great to work with.....they delivered our basement project on time and on budget. I loved that there were no surprises when they presented their invoices. The quality of their work was top notch. I also really appreciated their ideas and suggestions on how to make our basement more usable....they were great.

Nine weeks ago (June 3, 2026) we decided to Hire Brothers Construction to finish our unfinished basement. Our two-story house has a partial basement of about 800 sq ft, and we wanted to have about 600 sq. ft. finished with the remainder unfinished. We had done a lot of homework and made contacts with several highly recommended companies for the project. We used Chat GPT and recommendations from friends to come up with five possible companies for our project. We received a variety of responses from those companies and their pricing was similar. One of the companies, recommended to us by friends, was Brothers Construction in Littleton, CO. We contacted them and Jim Hathaway, the owner, came to our house to discuss our project. Jim advised that he has been finishing basements for almost 50 years and he and his company have finished several thousand basements in Denver and surrounding areas. Our home was built in the mid 70’s and Jim was very familiar with our model and had finished basements for other homes like ours. He took measurements and we discussed the possibilities. We told him that we would like the space to have a bedroom, a bathroom, and an exercise room with a small wet bar. Our project has several complications. The basement did not have a “roughed in” bathroom. That meant that our basement floor would have to be jackhammered to provide drainage connections for the bath and the wet bar. There are four small windows in the space, and an egress window is required for bedrooms in basements. We decided to add two egress windows to the project, one for the bedroom and the other for the exercise room. Over several weeks Jim provided us with several drawings and drafts for our project. There is no one on the planet more knowledgeable about basement finishing in Colorado than Jim Hathaway! His suggestions, and our discussions with him, resulted in an outstanding plan to be implemented. His pricing was “in the ballpark” and was more inclusive than the initial pricing offered by other companies. We also made several trips to his showroom to pick out the flooring, tile, cabinetry, and fixtures for the project. We met his son, Andrew, at the showroom. Andrew was very helpful during the project with pricing and communications related to the project. We also got to meet another of Jim’s sons, Alex, near the end of our project. He and Jim worked together to get the smoke detectors, required for our project, linked and installed according to Denver Code. We signed and work began on June 3rd, 2026. Jim pulled all the permits required for the job and said that the job should be finished within 10 weeks. Jim told us up front that his workers would be there every morning at 8am…and he was right! Also, they would need a key for access to the property is case we were not there or didn’t answer the door. His crew of workers (framers, drywallers, plumbers, electricians, painters and assistants) were excellent. They were very respectful of our property and our privacy, and their finished work speaks for itself. Jim advised that his crews have worked for, and with him, for 20 or more years. We really enjoyed getting to know them and it was always exciting to see their work at the end of the day. Jim was frequently on scene at our project and worked with his workers on many occasions. He was very patient with us as we struggled with decisions on doors, finishes, and various aspects of the project. We always looked forward to his visits and his insights into our specific project. Usually at the end of such projects there is a punch-list of items that need touch-up or additional work. They finished our job at the 8-week mark, and we had nothing on our punch-list! I am not in the habit of writing reviews and if I do, it usually very short. The work performed by Brothers Construction on our project was great and we do not hesitate to recommend them for your project. When you get ready to finish or modify your basement be sure to include Brothers on your list. You will not be disappointed!

Brothers did a complete finish of our 1200 square foot basement and did an amazing job. They worked with us on design, listed we to our needs/wants and made every effort to accommodate. They completed the project on time and on budget. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Jim and his team did a great job on our basement. They were fantastic to work through at every step of the process. They showed up on time, did the work they promised, were willing to redo things if there were issues, and completed everything they promised in the time they promised and for the budget they promised. They are a well-oiled basement-finishing team and it shows. The individual workers were always respectful, timely, clean, and able to answer questions. Jim was easy to contact and talk to, and often visited the job site as well. The quality of the final product is great and we are really enjoying our expanded living space. I would 100% recommend Jim and his team for your basement needs - they are fantastic.

Brothers finished our basement in 2019. They were amazing to work with. I was thrilled with Jim's layout to give us two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a laundry closet in a small space. When my ideas differed from his he explained his thinking and then happily went with what I wanted - on big things and small things. All of the subcontractors were efficient and respectful. We had a small issue a little bit after they finished but they came out within the week and fixed it up for no cost (I honestly don't remember the issue, just that I was so impressed by the response). They were so affordable and the work was so professional. Everything still looks great 7 years later. I could go on and on.

When we bought our house. the basement was completely unfinished. We worked with Brothers Construction to find the best layout for a TV area, a wet bar with an eating area,, a bedroom/exercise room and bathroom, and a storage area. Brothers showed us their plan and we agreed upon the cost. Brothers made it easy to select the finishes--granite, cabinetry, flooring, and fixtures. They were willing to make additions like adding a utility sink to the storage area within the price agreed upon. I am very pleased with the results.
