Bicycle Health Suboxone Clinic

I was sitting in a Bicycle Health support group meeting online and someone made a comment about brick and mortar locations, so I Googled BH to see if they had a site in Houston. I have been with Bicycle Health for years and without a doubt, this is a great company! I am self-pay and my prices have not changed in 4 years, even while they have added over 150 support groups per week! All of which are lead by recovery coaches. Lately during meetings, I have heard a lot of people comment how BH saved their life! Now, all of that said, since I got through the onboarding process years ago, and I pay attention to my appointments and check the app everyday, nearly, dealing with them is easy for me. But when I was at my wits end, and made the decision to get off the pain meds, I was desperate and impatient and I wanted my relief NOW! And when a problem occurred or things didn't happen like I wanted, it became a very bad experience. I am not saying that is what happened with the other reviewers, not at all. I just remember how it was when I made the decision to get help and nothing happened fast enough. As a company, BH had a brick and mortar clinic in Cali, then COVID hit and they moved everything online. Today, they service over 12,000 patients (I just asked the coach during the meeting). The pricing has been the same for years ($199 per month self-pay + my script at $35). So, they were growing slowly and making their little money, and they were offering a few (maybe 15-20 per week) online Zoom-based support groups. Those were a Godsend. And then they kept adding groups, and more groups, to now over 200 per week! That costs money. Yet, pricing stayed the same. From a business perspective, I don't get it, unless client retention is the goal. The founder of BH was already a very wealthy man. Does he want more money, probably, sure. But he started the company for good reasons and he took on a lot of added cost without raising the price. Ultimately, I think he wants to go public and then sell for 100's of millions. I personally do not care if he becomes a billionaire, because this company helps a lot of people. Give them a chance, get through the intake process, have your first meeting, stay on the pain meds if you have to until that time, then make the change. It takes a minute. But it is life-changing. And BTW, Bicycle Health and Suboxone is just a tool. You, the person seeking help and recovery, hold the key to success. Make the decision, use the tools you have, and don't look back.

My provider is the only saving grace out of this company. I’ve went through 2 times and in both instances, the customer service was beyond unhelpful when problems arose. Not including the various issues with getting my script to the pharmacy if I couldn’t meet with my provider, but I was told that they didn’t have an appointment available before my next one. Even though I was almost out of my medication and told them so, I was then told to go to the ER once withdraw symptoms started. Then was ghosted entirely by the team when trying to get a new or different appointment. Outrageous and unethical on multiple levels. I, unfortunately, do not have any providers close to me so I’m forced to choose them, but do yourself a favor and NEVER choose Bicycle Health for your opioid recovery.

Im a former patient from a few years ago. I relapsed and called today to start treatment again. I was told I had a $40 balance because I missed appointments I knew I had years ago. If I had known I had the appointments I wouldn't have missed them. It was confusion because of the way the appointments were scheduled. I was told they couldn't start my treatment again until the $40 balance was paid. I was a cash paying patient before but would have been using my health insurance this time and it would have covered my visits at 100%. But they still refused to start my treatment over $40. So I would have to agree with the other reviews that state Bicycle Health is all about the money and that's all that they care about. They didn't even offer me a payment plan. They turn people away that are seeking help for addiction over $40. It takes a lot to make that first step and call but to be turned away over $40 is s huge slap in the face. It shows they don't care about people or those struggling with addiction because if they did they wouldn't have so many 1 star reviews and I wouldn't be leaving the review I am over a $40 balance. I don't know who they have running the financial department but they obviously haven't ever struggled with addiction before. It's truly sad that this company used to be a good company that cared about those seeking treatment but now to be a company thats all about the money. Its sad. I was still refering people there for treatment up until today. After my experience with them today I wont ne giving their information out again. I received treatment from another company but wasnt able to remember the name but I will definitely find out who it was and go back to them. There are plenty of other companies out there doing the same thing Bicycle Health is doing that wouldn't have turned a patient away over a $40 balance. Looks like they laid off the wrong people when they had their big lay off. They should have kept those that cared about us. Its sad when you reach out for help and cant get it That's one of the reasons si many lives are lost to addiction. I hope the people in the financial aid department sleeps well at night knowing that they dont really care about the people that seek treatment. They leave us out here with very little options over a $40 balance. Thanks to Bicycle health my addiction won the battle today.

Well, after reading the comments/ reviews, it makes me wonder if I am with the same Bicycle Health the other people are with. I've had nothing but an amazing experience. So far the only thing I paid for is my medication's and it was five prescriptions for $44 with my insurance. They are working with me too Cross titrate to get me on the Sub and off the other. They've been nothing but helpful and responsive. It's been an amazing experience for me. Considering what Im going through. This is never a pleasant experience, but as far as their part. They are doing exactly what they are supposed to do, and even above and beyond as far as I am concerned, it was more difficult dealing with my own doctor to get my referral which they helped me with as well. They show compassion, and the only time they mentioned payment is when I failed to provide them with a photo of the front and back of my insurance card and I was very thrilled because apparently my insurance as good as it seems isn't accepted widely and thank goodness they do even my favorite pharmacy in Publix doesn't accept it, but they have the chats like someone else mentioned, and if I have a question that I can't figure out myself, I pop it in the chat as soon as possible so that someone will get back to me and I let them know if it's urgent or not. If I can figure something out myself, I would rather do that then to use that time that someone else might need to speak to them. I've only been dealing with them just under two months And its been a great experience so far. I was in the service industry 28 years and one thing I know is Service and I can tell if people are genuine and they have all exceeded my expectations. Especially in this day and age, since 2020 everything including medical and fast food has went down the drains as far as being service oriented. And I was shocked to say the very least at how quickly they resolve things. I told them where I wanted my prescription they called it in and come to find out Publix doesn't accept my insurance and I posted it in the chat and within the hour I got a message back, saying it had been called into the other pharmacy that I suggested , and that pharmacy actually called me so that I could register with them and had some questions for me. This was one of the worst Healthcare experiences I have ever had. I am a pain management patient trying to get off of pain medications on suboxone. When I called to make an initial appointment, I was asked many questions and even gave them my entire medical history and medication list after which the operator told me that I was a "perfect fit for them". Additionally on bicycle Health they have many articles on their website talking about pain management patients and other non-farmacological treatment modalities they could do while taking Suboxone administered by their program. And finally they have an online article about patients that are on clonazepam who, well at a higher risk being on clonazepam or benzodiazepines while on Suboxone, came out on their website and said that they could still treat patients and keep them on the clonazepam with the Suboxone as long as the patients understood the risks. I was extremely hopeful prior to my initial visit. My initial visit with the nurse practitioner Andrea Lopez was horrendous. She had no bedside manner at all. She was cold and uncaring. And after paying all of that money for an initial consult which is non-refundable she told me that bicycle health does not treat chronic pain management patients who have become addicted to their pain medications and additionally they will not allow a patient to continue Clonazepam while Suboxone, no exceptions! She then refused to admit me and denied me as a patient for bicycle health because I am a pain management patient. She told me a therapist would call me with referrals for other programs that may accept me and I never received a call. Bicycle health is a horrendous organization obviously just out for the money and I would not recommend it to anyone. I have been a nurse and a registered nurse for 30 years, and I recognize poor care and a company that is only out for the money when I see it. And that is exactly what bicycle health is.

Just want to put this out there in case you need help. This will get you subs. It's then entirely on you, the support system the offer is basically non existent. Even questions take days to be answered via their chat system. Keep a close eye on your bills, they will offer things like it's included but it will cost you. Again this is an easy way to get meds with a monthly check up. They aren't going to have you tamper down so you'll need to figure that out and push for it yourself. Honestly I believe sub access should be paid for entirely by Purdue pharm since they caused the majority of this mess. Wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be Purdue profiting more.

Horrible company. They don't care about patients, and are only in the business for the money. They hung up the phone on me and wouldn't call back. You are putting people's lives at risk when you run a healthcare company.
