Adelante Boutique

Visited The Pearl this weekend first time since March. Had window shopped the shop in the past but never gone in but did this time. Wow! They have beautiful Fall clothing fell in love with how much pink is in for the Fall and if that’s what you like they’ve got it and the pieces are beautiful. I bought a complete outfit. The employees were also really nice and helpful. Will definitely be shopping here some more. I believe in times like these it’s important to support our local small business owners. Boutique shopping is what I prefer and this one will definitely be a go to for me.

Very cute boutique. I bought this beautiful bag today but I am a little disappointed because it seems like it may be defective. I bought it with the intention of wearing it with the magnets snapped however the magnets are so weak they won’t stay snapped for more than 2 seconds :/… I was just visiting San Antonio this weekend so I can’t return or exchange and I mean the bag wasn’t too expensive but it also wasn’t cheap! I can’t figure out how to post a photo on this review but it should be posted under “photos.” Just make sure you check your items before leaving the store!

I had an extremely upsetting experience at Adelante Boutique. As a Hispanic woman, I was shocked and disheartened to be racially profiled while visiting this store. While white customers were treated with courtesy, my friends and I were looked down upon and followed around the store as if we were going to take something. What makes this even more ironic and offensive is that this boutique sells Mexican heritage items. It's disheartening to see a store profit from our culture but show such a lack of respect for the very people it represents. I will never set foot in this store again and would not recommend it to anyone.

I live in the downtown area but rarely get a chance to visit the cute shops at the Pearl. I went in after my massage which was probably about 11 AM on Tuesday, Aug. 2nd. I walked in very relaxed and ready to shop. The woman working behind the counter never acknowledged my presence after I was the one that said “hello.” Maybe she didn’t hear me? Or see me? I was the only one in the store. However, shortly after an older blonde lady entered the establishment and the woman working behind the counter quickly walked up to her and said “Welcome. I love your dress.” She turned on her charm and was extremely welcoming to her. I made efforts for small talk but she never looked at me much less reciprocated. I can’t help but think that my messy bun, brown hair, and brown skin were the reason she never acknowledged me. What I find ironic is that this store is selling Mexican heritage items. I’m a Hispanic American woman. I will never set foot in this store again (I’m sure they’re ok with that). I wouldn’t recommend supporting a business that promotes discrimination of any kind.

Yesterday evening, I took my daughter and her friends to the boutiques at The Pearl. It was 5:55pm and I knew the store would close at 6 but I saw a purse in the window and wanted to quickly take a look at it. A group exited as I was about to enter so I reached for the door just as a male worker pulled the door out of my hand and locked it without making eye contact or saying a word. I understand they were about to close but we had 5 minutes. Had he wanted to close early and just said that, it would have been perfectly fine. But to act in that manner with that hostility seemed uncalled for.

There were three ladies working in this little shop today and not one of them said a word to me. I have been to many boutiques in Texas and have never been ignored like this. Crazy! All of the other shop employees/owners were very friendly and helpful.

The girls working in the shop are great. The items are amazing. The owner however is incredibly rude and apparently is rude regularly even to other shop owners. I will not be returning because of her. She was SO awful. I feel bad for anyone working under her. No wonder they are always hiring. Go in for fun stuff just don't ask questions

DO NOT go to this store. I went to this store and I was trying on some of the clothes with my friends and the blonde lady worker there opened the curtains in the changing room without even asking. It made us feel very uncomfortable because we weren’t even fully dressed. She did this not only once but twice. She was then rude to us for not buying the clothes.

I walked into the store on a pretty busy day. The older woman who i presume is the owner was working behind the counter with a younger girl with brown hair. The brunette walked out from the behind and started walking around the store, when she had passed me and my mother she glared and gave me an up and down look, which made me very uncomfortable. she was also doing the same to a few people not smiling once in the time i was in the store.
